Bethel NC History
Bethel NC was incorporated in 1873 on the site of a small Indian Village and is located 24 miles north of Greenville.
Bethel is primarily a farming community with one of the largest Irish potato, sweet potato, and cucumber crops in the area. Bethel’s hardworking and penny-wise farmers have turned Bethel into one of the highest per capita income towns in North Carolina, second only to Farmville. Approximately 1,700 people live in Bethel.
